Last Things: A Study in Bible Prophecy
posted at 12:00am · Comments (0)
What amazing days we are living in. Deb and I returned from the Southern California Prophecy Conference with a sense of excitement and encouragement for the work here at Grapevine Cowboy Heritage Church. Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills was a gracious and generous host, and gifted us with books and DVD's to help in our own Prophecy Study here.
The Speakers for the conference were; Paul McGuire, David Hocking, Jack Hibbs, Ed Hindson, Britt Merrick, Mark Hitchcock, David Reagan, Bob McEwen, and Tim LaHaye. Each spoke on a specific topic concerning the last days, and Dr. LaHaye encouraged us to increase our wittiness because our loving Father wishes no one to be left behind. While I can say I didn't learn anything "new" at the conference, I did get a much better sense of the order of events and perhaps the "triggers" for the events to take place. I also have a greater understanding of the worlds current events and how they are fitting into Gods plan for these last days.
Yes friends, I do believe we are living in the last days, and I am more convinced than ever that we must be reaching the lost for Christ. Christ could return for His Church at any time, there is no prophecy that has to be fulfilled before He Raptures his Bride. We are merely an instant away from Daniel's 70th week, only a twinkling of the eye away from the Day of Wrath when the Antichrist will be revealed. As we watch the economic meltdown in the world, the rise of Islamic Terrorism, and the new political alignment of nations in Europe and the middle east, it seems as if the books of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation have come to life. Our Bible IS a Living Document, the Word of God revealed to men.
As we prepare to study Bible Prophecy here at GCHC, I ask that you be in prayer that God will open your hearts and minds to His Word and the truths revealed therein. We will begin the Series on March 22nd with a look at Gods hand in current events, and on March 25th with a brief study of Dispensationalism. We will make the Study materials available on March 15th at the Sunday service and online here on the website. Please be in prayer also for our ministry team as we are making preparations for media exposure for the study series and also to make the series available for Podcast and MP3 download online.
Lift up your heads... your redemption draws near!

Signs of the Times... Are we looking, seeking, working?
posted at 12:00am · Comments (1)
As we move into new territory in this age, we are recognizing more and more Gods hand at work in preparation for the end times… the last days… Jesus is coming soon! My recent study and reading has taken me on a journey through the thoughts and writings of some of the greatest theological minds of our age… and every one of them are as convinced of Christ’s imminent return as I am. Not that I consider myself to be a scholar or authority on the End Times, however I do believe that scripture is clear in its description of the last days and the picture that is painted of this time. As we prepare for our “last things” study, some questions come up such as; does the United States play any role in prophecy?, does the European Union have any role in prophecy?, as Christians how do we respond to a world in chaos?, and when is the “rapture” of the church?. We will answer these questions and many more as we search the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. The most important thing that we will discover is that our merciful God has a plan for his people in the end times and we have nothing to fear.
In these days, I am especially concerned about our need to be on mission to reach the lost. If this is not the time for evangelism, then there never has been one. Christ came “to seek and to save” and we also need this mindset. We may be quickly approaching a time in this nation when it will become more and more difficult to make a stand for Christ, and have the freedom to “preach the Word”. I recently received an e-mail from Dr David Reagan detailing some of the agenda posted on the White House website by the new Obama Administration (just ask and I will forward it to you). It truly is “re-making America”, but I doubt it is the kind of change most of those who voted Him into office really expected. As the church and Christians are persecuted throughout the world, we too in America may very well experience persecution before the Lord returns for his church.
I want to encourage you to come Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings to our services and Bible studies… I realize some of you have other commitments, or travel some distance to be here, but I believe the subject material we are covering in these next few weeks and months are, and will be extremely important to the growth of our church and our ability to reach the lost in this community. I also want to encourage you to invite your friends and neighbors, and anyone that you know who might be seeking a new church home, to join us for this time. As a church we continue to have needs in certain areas, such as music ministry and Christian education. As we pray for God to bring people to partner with us in these positions, we need to understand and be aware of the fact that God may be putting these folks in our path, and we just need to recognize that he has. Our growth and ability to spread God's word depends not only on our willingness to do so, but in our putting faith to action in our community.
I am grateful for the opportunity God has given me to pastor this church, and grateful for the servant leaders he has raised up in the church, but I'm most grateful for the friendships he has given Deb and I with all of you in the church. I'm looking forward to many great things in the days ahead as we seek to serve God here.
In Christ,

It is my sincere desire to Serve Christ and this Church to the very best of my ability as your Pastor. I hope we can join together this year in a mighty effort to see this church grow by adding souls to the kingdom. Please be in Prayer about how God can use you in this church body, to increase your desire for service... how you can be of service to the cause of Christ here at GCHC.
God has blessed us so much already by bringing in the right folks at the right time as we have built the "core" of believers here at GCHC. Now we are poised for real growth, real transition, Ready to be an evangelistic church able to meet the needs of a lost and hurting community. Ready to reach out to believers who are seeking a place to serve and grow. Ready to impact our community as a light of the Love of Christ.
Are you ready to Stand in the Gap? Are you ready to Grow and Go? What is your hearts desire?
Lets Stand in the Gap like Ezekiel, Grow and Go like Timothy, and like Paul, have the Desire to know Christ and the Fellowship of His suffering!
2009, what an exciting time to serve Christ! It just gets GOODER 'N GOODER! Come on... let's us be Do-Gooders together...

Galatians 6
posted at 12:00am · Comments (0)
This Sunday December 7th is a special day... not because it's "Pearl Harbor" day, though that is certainly important and we all need to give thanks for those men and women who sacrificed and those who continue to sacrifice for our freedom... this particular December 7th is special because it marks another milestone for our church. All of our Documents for our incorporation are complete and in the process of review, we celebrate four months of Bible Study meetings and two months of Worship Services, our attendance continues to grow, we continue to be blessed with visitors, and we will observe Communion in conjunction with the final sermon in our series from Galatians.
As we have journeyed through Paul’s letter to the churches in Galatia we have touched on; only one Gospel, Paul’s conversion, Unity, Justification, Christian freedom, Walking in the Spirit, the Law of the Harvest, and a few other topics. On Sunday the 7th we will learn of our Call to Glory in the Cross, and ask the definitive question of the Pauline Epistles… Whose Brand do you wear? No we’re not talking about Wrangler, Justin, or Stetson… we’re talking about a mark of ownership, not endorsement. We have learned in this series that growing in Christ means we must stand on His Word, and we have a responsibility to Love as He Loves us.
So Sunday, come prayed up and ready to “ride for the Brand”!

In the future this blog will mostly contain the musings of this Buckaroo Sky Pilot. It will be a place for me to share my thoughts and insights about topics ranging from Bible Doctrine, our Church, Christian life, and just about anything that would be of interest to believers. I hope it will spark discussion in the forums of this website, and in the places you gather with friends and co-workers.
